A Saturday night boating collision in Baldwin County has claimed the life of a Mobile woman and left several others injured, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The two-vessel crash happened around 8:10 p.m. on July 18 in the Intracoastal Waterway near Wolf Bay.
Authorities said 46-year-old Kristin Delaney of Mobile was a passenger aboard a 27-foot 2024 Albury Brothers vessel when it collided with a 23-foot 2013 Key West vessel operated by Cameron Neil, 32, of Houma, Louisiana. Delaney suffered critical injuries in the crash and was transported to South Baldwin Hospital, where she later died.
Another passenger on the Albury Brothers vessel, 51-year-old Brooks Delaney of Fairhope, was injured and taken to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Florida, for treatment. The vessel was operated by Drew Delaney, 49, of Mobile. ALEA said eight people, including the operator, were aboard the Albury Brothers boat at the time of the collision.
Neil, the operator of the Key West vessel, was also injured and transported to Sacred Heart Hospital. Three passengers aboard that vessel—Talyn Faulkner, 25, of Raceland, Louisiana; John Lyle, 28, of Houma, Louisiana; and Rayford Reeves, 34, of Schriever, Louisiana—were also injured and taken to the Pensacola hospital for treatment. Eight people, including the operator, were aboard the Key West vessel.
Following the crash, all uninjured passengers and both vessels were taken to The Wharf Marina docks in Orange Beach.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by troopers with ALEA’s Marine Patrol Division. No additional information has been released.
